Nascar heat 4 lap times
Can I get some help improving lap times? I seem to be slow in this game. I race with buddies and they all seem to drive away from me on every track. We do not use custom setups so it has to do with driving style I assume. Now I want to say I am not new to racing sims. I can hold my own in iracing with other racers buddies won't use iracing cause it's too hard.
What's the secret to this game? I use a wheel and pedals and have played with settings but that didn't help. What am I doing wrong??? I never considered this. I also think they get into the gas alot sooner than me since I'm used to having to ease into the throttle from placing iracing where they just mash the gas and go. I'm afraid playing heat will mess me up for iracing. Hahaha that's my excuse I'm going to use anyway. I know this is old but I'm trying to figure out same thing aero package does that mean just the brand of car?
Chevy dodge ford? Not exactly. It refers to the rules that NASCAR sets for the car specifications, which affects the aerodynamics and the overall handling of the car. Many changes have been made sinceincluding the most recent one in when they lowered the horsepower from to and made many other significant changes. So in the simplest way, cars are much different than cars.

I have been trying to play NASCAR Heat 4, but it's not fun for me because every time I start a race, or qualifying session, or even a practice session, the other cars all pass me with ease, especially on the straights.
It seems like my car simply doesn't get fast enough. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? If my car isn't set up right, and it probably isn't, how should I set it up? On the easy mode, maybe only one or two cars will walk away from you whereas on legend mode about half of the field will walk away from you.
Which gets really annoying in stage racing because if during Stage 1 if you've fought your way to the front, when Stage 2 starts you are going to have to contend with half the field wanting to pass you and one or more of the AI drivers running you into the wall.
There are some things you can do to mitigate this: a good car setup and b turn off driving aids. Tire pressure, camber, gear ratios, car height - almost everything is identical. The only differences are a few spring settings. Pick one as a starting point, race some practice laps, check your front tire temperatures rear doesn't really matter. You will find that your tire temps are very far from being even - meaning that for each of your front tires the inner, middle, and outer temps are way out of wack.
This is because the tire camber for those respective tires on the recommended setups are completely wrong. Correct this by modifying the cambers until your outer and inner tire temps are about equal after running at least 5 laps in practice. Once you have your tire cambers correct, you may need to adjust your air pressure so that your middle tire temperatures are inline with the outer and inner tire temps.
Now all this is a lot of work. You'll probably do practice laps per course. The true benefit is that by properly adjusting your cambers and tire pressure, your front tires will last considerably longer.NASCAR has many different racing series, featuring drivers from all over and with various levels of talent competing in a set number of events and following rules by the sanctioning body.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars weigh 3, pounds, and their engines produce about horsepower, meaning the cars can reach speeds above mph at some tracks. Some drivers, such as series starts leader Jason Keller, stay in this series because they prefer the competition. It features souped-up pickup trucks with engines that produce about horsepower.
Trucks are capable of going about mph on certain tracks. These are the various flags used and what they signal:. Green flag: The flagman waves this flag to start or restart a race. Green means go, so when a driver sees this flag, he slams on the gas pedal and takes off. Yellow flag: A yellow flag means NASCAR officials have called a caution period because an accident or debris on the track makes driving conditions dangerous.
When drivers see a yellow flag, they know they must slow down to line up behind the pace car and drive cautiously around the track until the track has been cleared. Red flag: Drivers must stop on the track — in a designated area — when they see the flagman wave a red flag. Black flag: When the flagman waves a black flag at a driver, that driver must get off the track and go to the pits immediately.
Blue flag with diagonal yellow stripe: This flag alerts a driver that a faster, lead-lap car is about to pass him and he must yield to that car.
White flag: This flag means that the race leader has one lap to go in the race. Checkered flag: When the checkered flag waves, a driver has crossed the finish line and won the race. Green—white—checkered flag sequence: If there is a caution during the final laps, this flag sequence announces that there will be a green-flag restart of a couple laps. A green flag signals the first lap of the restart, and the white flag signals the final lap that leads to the checkered flag.
Races get only one chance for a green—white—checkered finish. If a caution waves during a green—white—checkered finish, the race is over. Do bring a camera with a telephoto lens which brings the action closer to you if you want a good picture of the cars on the track.
Do bring earplugs, especially for children. The best kinds of noise deterrents are headsets that actually muffle the sound. Do bring a raincoat. Do dress for the weather. It can be steamy and sweltering at races held in the summer but cold, damp, and windy at races in the spring or fall. The best addition to the game is the host of sliders that change both your car and those of any A.
These cover aspects like tire wear, pack spacing, ability by the A.
The effect on the track is more exciting racing due to a host of factors created by those sliders, from more drafting partners to the overall nerfing of the A. That being said, I question the viability of those different lines on the tracks. The localized rubber banding causes cars to catch up and pass you, but then settle in and slow down in front of you.
Also, the A. Online racing has its own problems. It can take longer to save money for your racing organization due to more differentiated contract payouts — but not too much longer. Similarly, I like juggling different cars chassis that are best suited for specific track types as well as employee specialization; resource management is tougher but not excruciating.
One of the areas that needs work is the friends and rivalries system. The series' latest from developer Monster Games makes some tweaks to improve the on-the-track experience. Join Sign In.

Some Challenges are hard to complete, what do I do?
In Challenges Mode, your car uses the assists level setting you set when you chose Easy, Normal, Hard, etc. Most challenges were tuned for the Normal global difficulty setting, though some may require more speed. If you go to options and change your global difficulty setting to Hard or pause the game and choose Assists and reduced your assist levels, you can get more speed and beat the harder challenges.

When the setting is ON, AI draft partners will look for you on the track, and even pull out of line to help you. Some will set up in front of you, while others will push you from behind. The physics of the cars now allow for the tail end to slide out as a quick tuning option allows for an easy setup of focusing on tight or loose handling.
Loose handling can provide a faster car but it all depends on the track. Tires lose grip and the handling disappears over time. Different tracks attract different styles as super speedways focus on laying the gas down and drafting, while tri-ovals focus on throttle management and working the pack.
Short tracks involve heavy breaking and road courses involve precise driving. Using a Logitech G29 steering wheel is the absolute best way to get the full experience.

Different types of racing exists and depending on the track, cars will be bunched up or create space over time. Grinding twenty laps to run down the car in front of you is extremely rewarding.
Finding the best line and drafting as you work to gain a spot is fantastic. Tire strategy can also make or break a race and this goes in line with just how well the AI is in the game. If you pit later or take four tires, you have the potential of lasting longer and running faster lap times. In the Career Mode, if you anger opposing drivers, they will gun for you and take you out. If a car is faster and bumps you in the back, that is simply an aspect of stock car racing as it provides a push.
If you spin out on the track, the AI will actively try to avoid the wreck. It also takes into account pit strategy and you will see AI cars racing each other and going for passes.
These are all things that could be patched. Monster Games has rectified that this year as the game provides different graphical options if you have a PS4 Pro or Xbox One. Players can choose quality or performance in the settings and with quality on, the game truly pops. The colors and reflections from the cars really pop out and there are more details on the track when using the quality option. There still seems to be a hiccup at times in either mode that can throw you off your focus. The lighting is still good in Heat 4 especially in night races, but racing at Iowa Speedway during daylight was a pretty sight. The game even includes day-to-night transitions that help with immersion. Monster Games and Games thought outside the box with its Career Mode last year and introduced dirt racing to the game and it returns this year with Tony Stewart.

I use the multiple stages setting.
In qualifying, I am unable to get better than mid to high teens. Race starts, and for the first laps,I simply hold my position. As tire wear sets in, the AI cars slow down. Hit the pits, start stage 2 up front.
During lapsI hold position, and then from that point through the end of the stage slowly move up the field. Typically finish the race in 1st with about a half lap lead over second. Most of the field is lapped, many multiple times. Is it necessary to grind through hours of setup to get a fast car?
I would rate my driving skill as fairly good in that I seem to run nice clean laps. Sorry for such a long post. Showing 1 - 6 of 6 comments.
To achieve the best speed you need to turn off all assists, except for automatic transmission Don't worry though because driving without assists is quite easy in this game.

Makes sense - last night I spent about 90 minutes working on my car setup for a particular track. Got the wheel camber correct so that the front tires were actually heating evenly.
Played around with different gear ratios, car height, etc.
